Pathway to University: How Top Up Degrees Work
Courses offered by SCP Business School and awarded by ATHE and are recognized by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (OFQUAL).
Our graduating students will have the option to progress to a university programme to study an undergraduate Degree, or top up Degree, depending on the level of qualification gained. 240-credit Diploma courses that cover Level 4 and 5 are equivalent to two full years of university study.
Top up Degrees are available for students who have completed a nationally recognized Diploma. Examples include an Extended Diploma in Management, and an IT and Computing Diploma. Students can apply to be exempt from the first two years of a full three-year Degree.
- Students who complete a Level 4 programme will be eligible for exemption from the first year of a university Degree.
- Students who complete a Level 4 and Level 5 programme will be eligible for exemption from the first two years of a university Degree.
Top up Degrees are suitable for applicants who have completed a relevant Certificate or Diploma. Education pathways matter, as universities will only apply exemptions for applicants who studied in a related field.
All courses offered by SCP Business School and awarded by ATHE are OFQUAL recognized and follow strict academic standards. Students applying for Top up Degrees should clearly indicate where they have studied and what qualification they have gained. SCP Business School can assist with academic transcripts and other necessary documentation.
